The six-acre garden is made up of three smaller gardens, each with its own particular charm. Extensive displays of flowers, shrubs and trees are in bloom from early spring through to late October. Ceremonies require permits from the Central Park Conservancy, which cost $400 – approximately £250. There is an additional fee of $100 for photography, and wedding parties are limited to 100 people. Magical Vienna

Book budget flights to Vienna (prices start at £26, one-way with easyJet) for a magical wedding. Situated in Burggarten Park, the garden of the former Imperial Palace, The Butterfly House is one of Vienna’s finest Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) buildings. The wedding ceremony takes place in the Glass House, amid a tropical atmosphere of animals, plants and waterfalls. An hour before the ceremony the humidity is reduced to make the climate more agreeable. Wedding ceremonies can be held on weekdays from 5pm and on Saturdays from 9am, with a maximum of 50 standing guests. My big, fat Greek Wedding
